A Profile of Ira Teich, Founder, THE TEICH GROUP

 

Ira Teich, founder of the Teich Group, assists organizations, retailers, manufacturers, service providers and governments - to rethink market potentials and develop and align business, marketing, brand, and communication strategies. Teich is known for his breakaway innovation for complex market, brand and channel challenges, and in the words of Safeway Stores senior executive and CMO, “ He creates unique revenue opportunities through high ROI, go-to-market innovation and break-away execution strategies”.

 

Teich is an outstanding and credible presenter to the highest levels within organizations; his unusual combination of C.A./C.P.A., business management, and marketing strategy credentials, elicits confidence for measurable return-on-investment for inventive marketing ideas.

 

Ira is also engaged by global consulting firms for market ideation and strategy and by investor and venture groups to validate and enhance market strategies and programs for their portfolio companies or for prospective investees as part of a due-diligence process. Teich has also served as interim Marketing Executive (EVP level) inside organizations – to revalue their Brand, re-calibrate their go-to-market strategies, and develop permanent marketing/sales units.

 

In Government and NGO market strategy and positioning, Teich has recently spent several months working on Good Governance Practices and anti-corruption strategies and positioning  in Cameroon, Africa; and in Russia, on the integration of a large consortium of retailers. Before that, Ira advised the Russian Federation’s Ural region on strategies to attract trade, investment, and tourism into that region.

 

In 2007, Ira was engaged by UNICEF, to introduce world class “Private-Sector” thinking for innovative marketing and strategy – which transformed funds development and programs in support of children in need, in 155 countries. Teich continues his affiliation as a member of UNICEF’s International THINKTANK in Geneva, Switzerland.


 Formerly, Ira was CEO and Managing Director for Canada’s largest global consumer strategy, marketing and Brand consultancy and Design Agency – with 200 professional staff and with clients in 17 countries. His company was recognized by the Harvard Business School for “creating unconventional solutions to classic revenue-improvement problems, using strategic marketing, branding and design to effect change in consumer response”.

Earlier, after working as an executive in a Fortune 10 global corporation, Ira became a Senior Partner of Paradigm Consulting, focused on market-defined Vision and Strategy Formulation, Innovation, Business transformation, and Change, for large organizations in North America and worldwide.

 

Teich is involved in a variety of Boards and not-for-profit organizations. Ira has been appointed by the Lieutenant Governor to the Ontario Board Secretariat for a 5 year term ending 2013. Canadian born, Ira has worked or traveled extensively in over 60 countries and is trained in a variety of business and market cultures. Ira is an avid visual artist and a contributor of articles for a variety of industry publications and has been showcased in many conferences and publications.

 

Teich spends 50% of his time advising organizations on Strategy, Marketing and Branding programs, and 50% on philanthropic and volunteer activities. He is a member of Mensa, and dabbles in history, philosophy, and family genealogy.
